I have been experimenting with beads for about 25 years. I hadn't really ever sold my creations until last year when it came to me that it might be fun to sell some of my beaded jewelry. I got on a "Southwestern" style kick in the fall of 2021 and have made a number of earrings and barrettes in that vein. Most of my things are made with size 11 Delica Beads and size 15 seed beads. Size 11 means that, in general, about 11 beads will fit end-to-end in an inch. Size 15 means that about 15 beads will fit in an inch. So, the larger the number, the smaller the bead. Delica beads are a tubular-shaped style of seed bead that is wonderful for weaving as they are very uniform in size. The Japanese make the most uniform-sized beads, making the cleanest looking weaves and most uniform looking fringe. Lately, little tiny beads have been my medium. I have done several pairs of earrings using size 15 Delicas and size 16 seed beads for the fringe. "Desert Night" is made with Miyuki 15/0 Delicas in dark blue, orange, deep red, and turquoise, with a "frame' of sterling silver-lined Delicas. The fringe is done using dark blue Czech 16/0 vintage beads from the 1990s and deep red and yellow Italian Vintage beads made sometime between the late 1890s to 1910. I threw a few sterling silver lined 15/0 Delicas in to represent the stars and all the fringe are tipped with 15/0 Miyuki sterling silver plate seed beads and 1.5mm sterling silver beads. The ear wires are 20mm sterling silver radial feather conches. They are very light.
These are one-of-a-kind earrings.
I will consider bespoke, as well. Just message me!
